Joseph Cross’s directorial debut Summerknightz features a collection of twentysomething characters at emotional turning points, recalling classic films such as American Graffiti, Dazed and Confused and He’s Just Not That Into You. Summerknightz proudly wears its influences alongside its talented young ensemble cast.
“Dream,” their debut track, is an impressive showcase of their unique musical blend. Whispered vocals lull you into their story before heavy arena telecaster riffs suddenly arrive like an unstoppable army – creating an upbeat yet heartfelt tune that is catchy as well as moving.
Once Dresden and his changelings approach him with requests to find Lily, he heeds Elaine’s advice and takes her to Aurora – who heals Elaine but refuses to provide details regarding Reuel’s murder or Lily’s disappearance. Instead she informs Dresden that with Winter having stolen Summer Knight’s mantle back after his death and theft by Winter Court members has altered the balance of power significantly; to maintain control of it. Dresden must attack Winter at Midsummer to maintain their remaining power; otherwise failure would mean removal from Wizard’s Council membership and potential admission to Red Court of Vampires.
