Shirley Jones is one of America’s foremost literary figures. Born in Charleroi, Pennsylvania to Marjorie and Paul Jones – both Methodists who raised her in Charleroi as her home area – Shirley graduated with honors from Northwestern University’s School of Library Science with a master’s in modern literature in 1971.
