He wears a workman’s coat and worn-in shoes. In his past life, Scooby was involved with professional wrestling; creating two backyard wrestling rings for his fictional promotion Tag Team Wrestling. Eventually forming the Inner City Posse with friends Violent J and Bruce; later serving as customs agent at airport while Scooby worked at Fearless Shagaford’s detective agency as customs agent at airport.

He possesses an enduring sense of loyalty to his friends, going to great lengths for them. His disguise and ventriloquism skills are impressive, while he’s athletic enough to play tournament-level miniature golf.

Shaggy first joined Mystery Inc. when he joined Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley and Scooby-Doo for their investigations of criminal activities in Coolsville as preteens. Fred Jones had an obsession with monsters while Daphne Blake had daintiness while Velma Dinkley provided intelligence. Scooby-Doo was then assigned as their dog.

Through their adventures in Coolsville and around the world, the characters investigate crimes. When not investigating crimes or solving mysteries, the gang also enjoys eating, playing baseball, competing on reality shows and spending time at the beach. Traveling by van known as “Mystery Machine,” they also work jobs such as customs at airports or delivering newspapers – Shaggy often volunteers himself first when faced with monsters or ghosts; yet remains very courageous in facing off against these threats.
