Review of Playghoul by Mike Decay

Playghoul

Mike Decay of Phantom Creep Theatre offered us an intimate insight into their long-running Coney Island spook show. Here is his Brooklyn lair and we chatted him up about Playghoul, horror punk music, his longstanding Coney Island show Phantom Creep Theatre as well as many other topics.

Playghoul is a hardbound chronological collection of Maila Nurmi appearances in pulp magazines between 1950 and 1964 (with post-1964 entries to highlight her declining popularity within exploitative tabloids), printed traditionally offset and bound with hand perfect binding, presented in Eerie or Creepy style with interspersed illustrated adventures by NYC spook show performers, the Phantom Creeps! Released in 2019, there was only ever going to be 666 copies available!
