Nova was responsible for mounting several Van Gogh exhibitions, collecting an impressive library of Vincentiana, and uncovering many unpublished archival discoveries (such as an unheard-of journalistic account of the Auvers massacre). He wrote several major articles and an authoritative pictorial biography in 1969 which would remain definitive for decades – as well as managing a lucrative franchise for his family’s business that enabled them to control his legacy; additionally, he created and wrote a dual biography which probed their symbiotic relationship like never before.
