Imagetwist Nudes doesn’t aim to reinvent photo editing; rather, its focus lies on helping kids stay safe online by encouraging them to consider before sharing nudes-containing photos online.
No secret remains regarding how little the U.S. government cares for your revealing photographs; in fact, across from the Supreme Court sits the James Madison Memorial Building which houses the Copyright Office, an agency responsible for administering laws designed to foster creativity.
But that doesn’t mean the people at the Copyright Office are spending their days looking through your memory stick of pictures of Caribbean sex vacation, naked or otherwise. When filing a copyright registration, the process remains virtually identical regardless of whether you send photos of grandparents or nude selfies for registration.
Nudist images, much like non-nude pictures, are protected by copyright because of their creative value. Even though some might view such content as offensive, you can register these obscene photographs just like any other kind of photograph for copyright protection.
But as headlines and real cases demonstrate, registering nudes for copyright may not be the fastest or quietest way to stop someone using them without your permission. That’s why Childline and IWF created Report Remove – a free and easy-to-use tool designed specifically for young people that allows them to report sexual images online that appear unwelcomed by working to remove them anonymously while being supported by Childline.
