Heavenlysky_ is an exceptional Lake Tahoe ski resort that provides an ideal destination for families as well as advanced skiers and riders. There are an array of easy cut runs, two canyon areas with challenging chutes (Mott and Killebrew), as well as one real alpine bowl (Milky Way), making for plenty of accessible terrain as well as spectacular gladed skiing in beautiful old growth pine forests.
Beginners and intermediate skiers will find great delight here, from beginner runs that are mostly easy going to challenging black diamond graded trails with bumps such as Powder Line and Waterfall – there is also plenty of ungroomed powder for those that like to tear through it all.
Take an early approach if you want to catch some powder before lift lines form. We suggest starting on the California side of the resort by loading up on the tram at California Lodge and heading straight for Patsy’s or Groove Lifts before skiing down some intermediate runs before continuing onto Nevada side where there are numerous fantastic bump runs including The Face.
Busiest areas on the mountain tend to be around Sky Deck and Canyon Express chairs on California side and East Peak Lodge on Nevada side, though these can often be avoided between 10am and lunch by using the village gondola and taking Tamarack and Dipper trails – remember, your lift ticket includes this service so take full advantage!
