Genderflipflops Remake or reimagining genre that involves giving characters gender flips due to social changes on the Sliding Scale of Gender Inequality. Akin to Gender Bender but more focused on changing sex within an IC environment rather than physically changing gender; similar to Rule 63 but often with greater modifications outside sex such as switching male to female action heroes or vice versa.

Gender Flips should be distinguished from Crosscast Roles, in which an actor portrays their character using opposite sexes (for instance if a boy plays Ophelia in Hamlet it would count as Crosscast), however male playing female roles such as Ophelia wouldn’t qualify as Gender Flips (similarly, male actors playing female roles doesn’t qualify).
