Dirtypubs are those which fail to comply with health and safety regulations, including having dirty toilets, kitchens and food storage areas. At worst, their bathrooms may even be covered in vomit and human faeces – as revealed in Harris Interactive research that found 88% of people believe a dirty restroom reflects poorly on the cleanliness and management of a pub and 30% said they wouldn’t return after experiencing its smelly toilets!
After an exhaustive hygiene inspection at Keynsham pub The Ship Inn on Temple Street by Bath and North East Somerset Council environmental health officers, who discovered it to be in disrepair with out-of-date food items and lack of basic cleaning, their owner has been cautioned of its filthy condition being an attractive food source for rats and mice.
After receiving reports that an establishment was hosting illegal drug activities, a joint police force conducted a raid of it. Initial investigations revealed that over 300 pubgoers attended, with 219 testing positive for drugs at that venue. Furthermore, firearms were confiscated as well as anyone found with illicit substances or drug paraphernalia being detained.
