Alison DiLaurentis is an attractive high school girl from a wealthy background who appears to have everything: an attentive boyfriend named Eric, intelligent best friend Spencer, and the admiration of almost everyone she encounters. However, her seemingly perfect life is interrupted by A, an anonymous text-messenger who keeps taunting Alison with texts about how jealous of her peers she is; taking revenge by attacking Paige when necessary (such as when her brutal attack caused by Paige occurred).

Over time however, as Alison matures and learns how to utilize it more constructively she becomes less of a manipulative mean girl and more of an attentive partner and wife.
